Sozo Physical Therapy

Addressing whole body healing.

Sozo Physical Therapy PC was founded in 2021 by Amber Patzlaff, PT, DPT. Amber received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Mary in 2010. She worked in geriatrics for 3 years while living in South Dakota. She then moved up to North Dakota and worked in a rural hospital setting, treating conditions associated with surgeries, chronic pain, neurological disorders (stroke/Parkinson's), back and neck pain, wounds, edema, and dizziness.

Amber is the only physical therapist located in North Dakota with level 3 training in NeuroKinetic Therapy®, which along with Total Motion Release® techniques, help her assess the true cause of pain vs treating just the symptomatic area. She is also certified in LSVT BIG®, which is a treatment technique used for those with Parkinson's Disease, teaching them to move with BIG movements. She has been trained in treating vestibular (inner ear) balance issues and has many years of experience treating post-surgical conditions. Amber also has studied nutrition and incorporates essential oils, diet, and supplements into pain relief techniques.

What sets you apart from the other therapists in the area?

At Sozo PT, my goal is to revamp what physical therapy looks like in our area of the state. Through movement screens, we can determine the primary source of your pain. For example, if you present with neck or shoulder pain, we will assess if this is actually a neck issue or if there is something greater going on in your hips, core or feet.

I have had people as far as Minot, Fargo, and Watertown come see me for therapy, as my treatment techniques are specific to your body and not cookie-cutter treatments. But like with all therapy, if you don't do your homework, you won't achieve long-term results.

What types of diagnoses do you treat?

  • Chronic pain
  • Post-surgical cases (knee, hip, ankle, back, shoulder, neck surgeries)
  • Dizziness
  • Neurological conditions such as Parkinson's and strokes
  • Acute injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Headaches

  • Scars and adhesions
